2 Brownies

Hey there!
Finally I overcame my laziness and decided to blog. There have been so many projects not just not blogged but also not clicked. So I need to clear up lot of backlogs before I resume my current project.
In this post I am sharing 2 cards. Both having a dominant brown colour.

I am also planning to setup my page on FB. So stay tuned :)

Piyu

Hello!!

Hey Friends!
Yesterday was a holiday and I got some time for crafting. Here's the card that I made -
Supplies : CS : Fabriano; Stamps : Hero arts - flourish background, Varna's love birds; Dies : Cuttlebug baby face alphabet die set
As you can see, I am still hooked onto Varna's "Love bird" stamp set and rainbow colours. I have stamped the cute little birdie on 2'' wide quilling strip and paper pieced it. Wished there was a die set along with the stamps.

Hugs,
Piyu

Back with love

Hey friends!
I was MIA since long as I was held up with few orders. A couple is celebrating their 2nd love anniversary and the girl wants to gift her boy with 24 gifts. Out of which she asked me to make 8. I will post the details in another post. Then my husband's office had an event and they wanted few small things to be given as prizes. So I made few "windows themed" quilled earrings and magnets. By the time I completed them, I was so tired that I didn't take any pics :(
All this left me with very little time for ICR's CASE. But finally managed to send stuff.

So now, all's done and I am free to craft as per my wish :)
Here's a card, I made using Varna's Love Birds stamp set which I won as Varna's blog hop winner (designer) for  this card -
Supplies : CS - Fabriano, Stamps - Varna's Love birds, PTI woodgrain, Inks -  Creativ, colorbox frost white, Distress inks - Tea dye, worn lipstick, Dies - Spellbinder lacey ovals, water color pencils - Steadler
I am fascinated by rainbow colours and the moment I saw this background stamp, I thought of creating the rainbow effect. I also wanted to make a special mention of quality of Varna's stamps. It is really superb! It's comparable to the big branded imported ones. I am pretty novice at stamping, but I got the brackground perfect at one go.
Hope you liked this card. Will be back soon with another.

Love,
Piyu

Vintagey layout

Hello Friends!! Yesterday I decied to get out of my comfort zone and challenged myself to make a vintagey layout. It's the first time I made a layout and also anything vintagey (Although I had tried once..but failed).. So would request you to put on your critic caps and help me improve :)
Supplies: CS : Local, PP - Paper Mania, Distress inks - Vintage photo, Peeled paint, Stamps - Hero arts Blossom Art, Glitter balls - Pie lane, Slickles - Stickles - Diamond, Punch - Martha Stewart double arches

And here's the close up-

I am submitting it to following challenges -
Pretty Paper Studio challenge 2 - No Photo layout
For the love of crafting challenge 4- Blooming gorgeousness
CraftyJC Challenge #15 – Many Colours Holi!
As it was the first time, I decided to go for a smaller layout  - 8 x 8 inches. And like some of my previous posts..I loved playing with distress inks..:)
Well that's not all..I also organized my distress inks and blending foams this weekend. And here's the picture -

You can get the distress ink labels at - http://www.rangerink.com/pdf/label_sheets/DistressInkLabels.pdf
I printed 2 sheets. One went on distress inks and other on my blending tags. I have stuck a piece of velcro to paper tag using a piece of "buckram"..not sure if it is the right word..but it is a drier sheet kind of material used by tailors to stick fabrics. When inserted between fabrics and ironed it sticks the fabrics together. I stuck it using fevicol on tag and then stuck the velcro on it followed by ironing on reverse. The bond is quite strong. I have tested removing and putting the blending foam multiple times. Hope you find this tip useful!

Piyu

My craft haul

Warning : Long post and loads of pictures :)
Hi Friends!!
Today I am sharing the pictures of my craft supplies that I got  recently from US. I got this stuff shipped to a friend's place there and my husband got it back here. I got some real cool discounts as it was Christmas time :)
The first pic is of my craft punches -

I got these from Joann's.  Joann's had 40% off on craft supplies + I had a 15% off coupon. So even though the $ rate was high, I felt a little less guilty :D.
Next is distress inks. I got 12 of them. 6 from Joann and 6 from Ohmycrafts. Ohmycrafts had a flat shipping of 1.95$ and pack of 3 distress inks for just 10$.

Since long time, I wished for an eyelet setter. So finally got one from Joann. I also got the sew easy stitch piercers from Ohmycrafts and the "DCWV Fresh floral Stack", again from Joann. This is a must have for all pattern paper lovers. It's a 12x12 paper pack containing 180 papers with 60 lovely designs in pastel shades (3 of each design ). And it cost me less than 9$..(including 15% discount and tax. Joann charges you some tax which you can find out on checkout only).i.e 2.7 Rs. only for a 12x12 paper :)..
However don't expect the papers to be thick as CS at this price. So you will have to layer them on cardstock. But they are surely a true value for money.
So next time you plan to buy something from Joann, surely checkout the DCWV paper stacks.

I also got some Spellbinder dies, Cuttlebug "B" plates and embossing folder and the Niji Pearlscent colours. Tejal has posted a wonderful review regarding it. Do check it out.
Next comes the paper trey ink stuff.
The "Thank you" stamp in the above pic is complimentary :). I also got the "doily details B punch out tool" by mistake thinking it to be a die. So if anyone needs it, let me know. I will sell it at the price I got. Else will keep it until I get the doily details dies :D.

I got some stamps too.
They are mostly floral silhouettes. Currently I am obsessed with distress ink and silhouette stamps.
And now a picture of the entire shopping :) -
You can also see a Tonic 8-1/2'' guillotine cutter. Inspite of having a 12'' Fiskars rotary trimmer, I bought this because -
  • My rotary trimmer required frequent maintainence as the track worns out  pretty soon.
  • Followed Tejal's review on paper trimmers. Thanks girl!! You have helped me n number of times..and I am indebted to you :)
  • It was pretty cheap. I got it for 11$.
Now that I have got so many new supplies, my mojo is super high. So you can expect a lot of new posts from me in the coming few weeks :)

Hugs,
Piyu

Here's a closeup of the shelves :)
You will find some great tutorials for awning card on you tube. It's surely worth a try.
There's one more thing that I wanted to share. My hubby's back from his US trip with a bag full of craft supplies. I had got all the stuff ordered at a friend's place during Chritsmas so got some really cool deals. Will share a pic of my new supplies soon :).
