PTI challenge : Sampler Square

Hello!
This is my second post of the day..(Today's the deadline for the PTI challenges and I had to post the cards I had made :p ).
Here's my card for the sampler square challenge. I used the PTI stamp - Guidelines Stamp set. It has 9 beautiful squares to build a background and it perfectly fitted the theme.

I used distress inks and different embossing powders to alter each square differently.

Linking this card to the PTI Sampler square challenge.

Piyu

OCC stretch your stamps 2 - Day1 card

Hey Friends,
I haven't been so active on blogger, but I have been crafting a lot lately. My almost died Mojo is back in full swing ( And I really hope it stays for a long time).
Recently I bought 3 classes @ http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/. One of them is stretch you stamps2 which is ongoing and this is one of the main reason that got my mojo back.
Not just this, I learned so many new ways by which I use my long neglected stamps.
So here are 2 cards that I made as a part of OCC - Stretch you stamps2 day1 homework.

These are made using the  faux water color background technique.
I will be back soon with more homework cards. Keep watching :)

Vintagey layout

Hello Friends!! Yesterday I decied to get out of my comfort zone and challenged myself to make a vintagey layout. It's the first time I made a layout and also anything vintagey (Although I had tried once..but failed).. So would request you to put on your critic caps and help me improve :)
Supplies: CS : Local, PP - Paper Mania, Distress inks - Vintage photo, Peeled paint, Stamps - Hero arts Blossom Art, Glitter balls - Pie lane, Slickles - Stickles - Diamond, Punch - Martha Stewart double arches

And here's the close up-

I am submitting it to following challenges -
Pretty Paper Studio challenge 2 - No Photo layout
For the love of crafting challenge 4- Blooming gorgeousness
CraftyJC Challenge #15 – Many Colours Holi!
As it was the first time, I decided to go for a smaller layout  - 8 x 8 inches. And like some of my previous posts..I loved playing with distress inks..:)
Well that's not all..I also organized my distress inks and blending foams this weekend. And here's the picture -

You can get the distress ink labels at - http://www.rangerink.com/pdf/label_sheets/DistressInkLabels.pdf
I printed 2 sheets. One went on distress inks and other on my blending tags. I have stuck a piece of velcro to paper tag using a piece of "buckram"..not sure if it is the right word..but it is a drier sheet kind of material used by tailors to stick fabrics. When inserted between fabrics and ironed it sticks the fabrics together. I stuck it using fevicol on tag and then stuck the velcro on it followed by ironing on reverse. The bond is quite strong. I have tested removing and putting the blending foam multiple times. Hope you find this tip useful!

Hugs,
Piyu

Happy New Year!!

Hello!!
It has been a great crafty year..with so many new blogger friends, 41 posts from a "posting lazy" person like me :D, loads of shopping and new techniques learnt and my new craft supplies shop (Right now limited to quilling stuff..).
This is the last post of the year..but a long one...as I am going to share 4 new projects :)

Here's a quick card I made this morning for a dear friend...(I am not going to mention her name as it is not yet sent to her :D)

Supplies: Hero arts Wild flower Garden,Ranger Archival ink jet black, Distress inks : Tumbled glass, shabby shutters, Peeled paint, Spellbinder Classic scallop circle large, making memories brad butterfly, CS - Fabriano

Next is the punched flowers card. It was lying incomplete for a long time. Finally completed it yesterday.
And here's the close up of punched flowers -
I am feeling very lazy to write the supplies. So please message me if you wnat to know about anythig :)
The white blank circle will host the sentiment. I will add it when I plan to give it to someone based on occasion.
Yesterday, I also tried my hands at fabric flowers.

As red is the colour of love, I am submitting it at Kalindi's Unconditional Love challenge.

And now the last card. This is for all my lovely blogger friends.
I have used my scraps for this card and the flower is handmade, the one which I learnt at Laura's class.

Have a wonderful new year full of happiness, love and prosperity :) and thank you for all your support, encouragement and help during 2011.

Distressed - Part 2

Here comes another disress inked card -

Supplies:
Distress inks : Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed
Stamps : Hero arts Wild flower garden
Inks: Ranger Archival Ink Pad JET BLACK

It's very simple and easy and it just took me 15 mins to make this card...Earlier I was not getting the distressing right as I didn't have a blending tool and was using a sponge. But now I made my own belnding tool and it works wonders. I had a wooden stamp handle. I attached a piece of foam (The one which u get in packings) using a two way tape. And voila! The blending tool is ready. You can change the foam for using different colours or when if gets worned out.

I am submitting this card to following challenge -

Posting a card that I made few days back. I had not posted it earlier as it was yet to reach the recipient.
It's an Easel card -

This is my first card using cuttlebug, Penny black stamp and distress ink. I wanted to add some more punched flower emblishments, but as I sending the card with post, I was not sure if it would reach properly. Please let me know if you know any tips for posting such cards.
