Glitter blooms

Hey Friends,
It's last day of month and I am posting a card for Mudra's challenge..just few hours short of challenge closing.  The theme for current month's challenge is Heat Embossing.  As soon as I saw the challenge theme I decided to use silver on vellum. The Mudra stampset Linen Blooms worked really well with vellum and silver embossing. Here's my card-

And some more close ups -

I went over the vellum flowers with Wink of stella and it added a lovely subtle shimmer.
The "You" die is from Simon says stamp and the sentiment is from Mudra stamps again. Hope you liked it.
Submitting this card to Mudra Challenge 5 - Heat Embossing.

Hoping to post more cards in February.

Birthady Wishes

Hey Friends!

I am so glad that I am able to keep up my new year resolution of posting on blog so far. And this is what got me to post this card on time well before the challenge closes.
So here's it-

Another pic with a lighter background -

I made this card specially for Altenew's Inspiration challenge - http://altenewblog.com/2017/01/01/january-2017-inspiration-challenge/
Here's the inspiration picture-

The colors for the current challenge were really challenging  for me. Yet I decided to give it a shot. I am happy I completed this card at one go and in a very short time which is so unlike me.
I have used my latest buy - Altenew's doodle blooms stamp set. The sentiment is from Altenew's Floral frame.
Hope you liked my take on this challenge.

A Happy Birthday Card!

Hey Friends!
Today's card is a customized card that I made for my Boss's birthday from the entire team.
I wanted a stamp set that could represent each one of us and after a lot of thinking decided upon "Cat's Agenda" by Mama Elephant to represent the team. Then next action was deciding upon the characters. I tried  my map my teammates according to their hobbies/nature. All this went into the inside of the card. The top of the card needed a bigger to represent our boss. And I found a perfect image in the "Carnival cupcakes" stamp set by Mama Elephant again.
So here's my card-

The Happy Birthday die is from MFT.

Have a beautiful day!

Hi Friends!

Today I have a another card made using Altenew's beautiful day stamp set.

I stamped the images using distress inks and colored them using Gansai Tambi water colors. Then I did the detailing using staedler water color pencils. The sentiment is also from Altenew - Floral frame stamp set. The die cut frame is from MFT - Stitched Rectange scallop frames.

Happy New Year

Hey Friends!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! It's the time of the year where we make new year resolutions. I make almost same resolutions every year to break them some time sooner.
Hope I keep them up this year. And here are my crafty resolutions-
1) Keep this space updated. I made quite a good number of cards last year but posted very few on this blog. (Only 23 posts ). So this year I resolve to make and post cards on blog, on my facebook page and my instagram account. Targeting at least 1 card a week.
2) DESTASH!!!! I need to let go of my supplies that I don't use. I keep buying but when it comes to destashing, I am a hoarder.
3) Participate in challenges well before the deadline. I miss so many challenges not because I fail to make a card..but because I fail to post it.
4) Learn and try out new techniques and get Better!  Improve upon watercoloring and try out some no watercolor - only stamping cards.

That's all for now. Hope you have a super duper crafty year!
Love,
Piyu
