Hey Friends,
I am back after a long time with card made specially for the Winnie and Walter's November rerun challenge
While on the way to office, I just realized that today's the deadline and I had not yet submitted my card. Fortunately I had pic of it that I had clicked to show it to my friend.
It's not a good quality pic but this is what I have.
I have used Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs stamp set. First I stamped the images using distress ink - Antique linen and then colored using zig markers. Hope you liked it! Love, Piyu
Hey friends!
I am back after a long time. I had been somewhat active on Instagram but had got a little lazy with my blogging. But today I am here with my best creation so far. It's all because of my dear friend Sindu who informed me about the challenge at MFT Stamps - “2016 Card Design Superstar” . Thanks so much girl!
As this is going to be a long post with lot of technicalities, let me get straight to the point. So friends, meet "Elle" the little elephant. It's her birthday today and her friends are no where to be seen. Wanna know what they are up to? Watch it out -
Hope you had fun watching Elle's surprise birthday party with the secret message and the color changing balloons. Here are some of pics -
Here are some of the techniques I used-
1) I stamped the bear holding the balloon on acetate sheet using MISTI and erased the eyes, nose and other features not seen on back view using Q-tip moistened with wet wipes. Then I place my card stock on the stamped image on acetate, secured it well with magnets and pressed it to transfer the image onto the back side of my cardstock. Then I re-inked, the stamp on MISTI and pressed onto the card stock. Thus I got the front view of the bear on the top of the cardstock and back view on the back side of cardstock. Here's a video showing this technique-
2) Next, I stretched the surf and turf die. I wanted to make a slider for the Happy Birthday Message. But the slot die was larger than what I needed. So I rolled the die halfway through my cuttlebug, removed it, moved the curved end a little ahead to get desired length and rolled it again. This technique can be used to reduce sizes of rectangles and similar other shapes. I will soon upload a video for it.
3) For changing colors, I cut inside portions of balloons using a pen knife and attached a multicolored circle using a brad behind it.
The card took around a week to complete with 3-4 prototypes. But the end result was worth every bit of it.
Phew! Now that I am done, I am gonna rest for a while. No more crafting for a week now.
Here's a fun video I made with my card.
Hello Friends!
I missed so many challenges last month despite of making cards due to procrastination to post them. So this month I decided to post as soon as I make them. I will be soon uploading the backlog too.
The first challenge I am participating in this month is Peek-a-boo designs Challenge 7
And here is my card-
I have used my latest buy - Altenew's Vintage roses and Altenew's Red Sunset Ink cubes along with my old Wplus 9 stamp set fresh cut florals. The leaves are stamped using distress and momento inks. The cardstock is Bielo. I experimented a little with Altenew inks and various cardstocks before making this card and found that Bielo works the best.
I have used Gansai Tambi watercolors. The sentiment is also from Winnie and Walter's the big, the bold the you stamp set.
The second challenge I am submitting this card to is Peek a boo designs - Challenge#6 Inspire Yourself.
I was inspired by Manu Gupta's card. I have used stamping, masking technique and sequins.
Hello Friends!
I had not been so crafty last month but this month is going to be different. How could I miss so many nice lined up challenges?
So this post is for one great challenge where every participant gets a gift. I am talking about The craft shop's 3rd Birthday challenge. All registered participants received a Bielo white cardstock as a gift. This is a smooth "white" cardstock that works well with watercolors. I am stressing upon the white color as most of the watercolor papers that I have tried are off-white which makes layering a little tricky due to color mismatch. And so I had to give this cardstock a try.
First I stamped same image on Bielo card stock and colored it using different watercoloring mediums. I used butterfly from the Hero Arts Antique Engravings stamp set.
The first image is colored using Zig markers, the second and third using Gansai Tambi watercolors and the fourth using Staedler watercolor pencils. As you can see, the colors blend quite well.
Then I stamped Wplus9 Ranunculus Bouquet and colored it using Zigs, added some shading using Staedler watercolor pencils and made the following card -
So watercoloring on Bielo cardstock really works and finally I found a white cardstock that can be used for watercoloring.
Just one con. Coloring with zig markers and blending with water doesn't work well. There is no issue with Zig + Zig or Zig + watercolor pencil blending. Also if you want do some complex watercoloring go for watercolor cardstock. But Bielo is good for general watercoloring.
I am grateful to Priya for introducing me to this wonderful cardstock and setting this challenge to try out this cardstock.
The butterflies are colored using Gansai Tambi watercolors
The butterfly is colored using staedler watercolor pencils.
The vines in the above cards is a combination of doodling and stamps from Mama Elephant - freestyle florals stamp set. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter - Big, bold and party stamp set.
Hello Friends!
Today I have a wedding card made using my favourite Wplus 9 stamp - ranunculus bouquet and Gansai Tambi watercolors. This is my first attempt with these watercolors hoping to get better with subsequent tries.
I am submitting this card to Paru's Card making challenges for the month of April. The theme for this month is Anything goes.
And as usual, I am submitting it just few hours before the challenge closes :p
Hey Friends!
This is my Last card for the Winnie and Walter - Share the love challenges featuring felicity with Pink Studio.
I wanted to make some more..but as usual, ran out of time.
I started making this card taking inspiration from Vanessa's card shared on Day 2 of the challenge. However as I collected the supplies for it, I got inspired by 2 more cards shared on Day 3 and Day 5.
Here is my card-
And here are the cards I am inspired by -
The layout of elements in my card is inspired from Vanessa's card.
The background of my card (peach with horizontal lines design in white) is inspired from Lydia's card.
The background again and the Spring theme in my card is inspired from Lea's card.
This post is for a card made for the Winnie and Walter - Share the love challenges featuring felicity with Pink Studio - Day 3 challenge.
For this card, I took inspiration from Lydia Evan's card -

Today I have a card made for the Winnie and Walter - Share the love challenges featuring felicity with Pink Studio.
For the challenge we have the make a card using one of the cards posted by the creative design members for 5 days.
This post is about my card for day 5, I am inspired by Kate Copper's card -
I liked the colorful flowery background layer below the white and incorporated it in my card.
And here is my card-
The challenge didn't require to use W&W or Felicity with Pink Studio products and as I was away from home, I didn't have my W&W stamps nor my dies. So I made this card using Mama Elephant's Freestyle florals stamp set. I coloured it with my Zig clean color real brush pens. The Sentiment is from Clearly besotted blooming marvellous stamp set.
The inspiration pic for the challenge is the snapshot of a beautiful garden in France in Loire Valley -
And I made the following card-
I used Altenew's painted flowers stamp set. The flower pot is hand drawn. I made the texture on it using zig real brush markers to make with the maze garden. The flowers are also coloured using the Zig real brush markers.
Here is a close up of my card -
Making this card was a real challenge for me. As I am away from my hometown, staying in a hotel, I have very few craft supplies. I had to do without my paper cutter and score board. I also had just 2 colors of cardstock - black and white. I had started this card yesterday and there was very less time. To add to it my baby girl refused to sleep early. I fell asleep putting her to sleep. When I woke up, I had 1 hr 45 mins until the challenge closed. I thought I can do it and this much time is enough ... just then my little monster woke up.
Here's a pic of Tania clicked when she just woke up and saw her mummy working on the floor with crafty mess around -
Somehow I managed to complete the card, click pictures and upload it, allowing Miss. Tania to play with some of my craft supplies.
Blogging from my phone is another challenge. Let me.not talk about it.
Please excuse the bad quality of pictures. I am just glad I could make it within the deadline.
Today I have a card made for the Altenew's March challenge - from places abroad - France. The inspiration pic provided is of a beautiful garden in the Loire valley in France -
And here is my take on the inspiration pic -
I have tried to create a similar color scheme and element placement of the central maze -
I have used following supplies -
Stamps - Altenew painted flowers and peony bouquet
Hello Friends,
I am in Bangalore for a month to spend some time with my hubby who's on a deputation here. I managed to get some craft supplies this time. Here is something quick that I managed to make while my baby Tania was sleeping -
I used the Altenew painted flowers stamp set with Memento inks.
I then made a similar card but this time I used my zig clean color real brush markers.
My favourite amongst the two is the one with markers.
Which one do u like better?
Hello Friends!
How are you doing? I am back again with Winnie and Walter series. However, this time it is a tag and not a card.
This tag is made from the scraps. I was not happy with the background I had created. So re tried something different on the backside of the cardstock. and then cut a tag out of it. The fuzzy cut flower was also discarded. But finally, I liked the way it turned out. The tag also has a back side. Here's it -
For the above card, I made the background by embossing the beautiful bloom and leaves with clear embossing powder. Then I masked the blooms and leaves and distressed using worn lipstick distress ink. The central image is colored using zig real brush markers. I added a tinge of gold in the center of the bloom. I am submitting this card to following challenges -
