Hand made Rakhis

Hey All,

Had been a little lazy in posting. Since Last 2 weeks, I had been quilling some Rakhis :). Actually I wanted to send Rakhis to my cousins in US. My hubby was going to take it along and post it in US itself. The rakhi stalls were not up yet. So I quilled rakhis and sent them. I liked the way they turned up and qulled some more :) And here are the pics.

Hope you like them :).
My hubby's back now with loads of my craft goodies. One is the cuttlebug :) So would be soon experimenting with the cuttlebug... Gosh..Looks like my craft budget for the entire year is over ..but no regrets :D

Baby girl Album!

WARNING : Loads of pictures
Hi All,
I have been MIA since almost a month..and that's because something was cooking in the background. I had been working on a baby girl album.. and finally it's complete..It's my first attempt and hence it took so long.. It's meant for an adorable baby "Saachi" - a friend's baby girl who stays in US. My husband was to leave for US yesterday and was going to take the album along. So just finished it some 4 hours before he left for the airport and managed to take some pictures and a video :)
Here are photos of the pages from the album -

And here's the video -

I don't possess any MS or other border punches..nor I have cuttlebug..but I had bought some border cutouts and embossed papers from Kavitha's store. So I could use them. I have also used emblishments(ribbons, buttons and die cuts) from A1 craft supplies store. The stamps are from Karuna's store.

Comments awaited :)
*Update* - I added photos of all the pages :)

Today I have a card made specially for the IRC challenge where we had to interpret ICR and use the colour hues - Yellow, Green and Brown/Maroon. I interpreted IRC as I -> Inks, C->Chocolates, R-> Ribbon. And here is my card -
I->Ink, C->Chocolates, R->Ribbon
I wanted to make quilled chocolates since long time. So as soon as I thought of C for chocolates, I decided to give them a try. I am just in time for the challenge..the challenge would end today (30th April) at 12am.
The stamp (flourish) is MICIA clear stamp and the sentiment is foam stamp from hobby ideas.
The ribbon is sent to me by Kavitha as a part of ICR swap.
Yellow pattern paper is form Making Memories. It has embossed stars which would be visible if you click and enlarge the image. Brown paper is local.
More quilled chocolates to follow soon...

It's a slider card and I am entering it in the CraftyJC Challenge 6 - "Hearts & Hugs"

The card has "Hearts" and when you pull the slider, it has a hug and a bonus kiss too :)

Do check out the stamped sentiment on the slider! It's the first time I have used stamps on a card :)

My first exhibition - A dream come true

I always wanted to display my quilling works. And I finally got a chance here in Singapore. I had participated in the MAAD (Market for artists and designers) at the Red dot Museum.
The preparation started as soon as I got approval email from the organizer.
It was the first time I was participating in such a event and that too in a new country. I had no idea as to what people here would like. Hence I decided to make 10-15 items of each type.
Here's the list of items I had -
1) Greeting cards - 2 sizes
2) Photo frames
3) Fridge magnets
4) Earrings
5) Paper Clips
6) Bookmarks

After hard work of 2 weeks and help from my dear husband and in laws, I was all ready and excited.
Below are the pictures of the event.
Day 1 - Setup

Day 2 - Setup

It was a dream come true and it came true only because of persuasion and continuous encouragement from my husband. Without it, I would have been wasting my vacation playing farmville on facebook :)

I will post detailed photos of my artifacts and my experience and leanings in my subsequent posts.
Till then, Keep Watching :)

Simple quilled cards

The dimension of the cards is around 14 cm * 11 cm.

Penguins in love

This card is one of my initial cards and one of my favorites.
This would make a good card for anniversary for valentines day.
The blue heart is made out of handmade paper. I wanted to try my hands at the hand made paper and this is the outcome.

Three dimensional quilling

Paper quilling is not just limited to 2D but beautiful 3D forms can be created too. You would be amazed to see what simple tight rolls can transform into.
Below are some of my 3D quilled pictures. I apologize for the photo quality and promise to upload better pictures soon.

These are my first two tries at quilling butterfly.
Just stick a magnet behind and they can make good fridge magnets.
