Some CAS cards

Hello friends! I had been MIA for a long time. My life was super hectic..with loads of office work..Even weekends were not spared. But now it's done. And as hubby's out of town for a week, I was all alone with my craft supplies over the weekend :). So I managed to make some CAS cards.
These days I am hooked onto negative punches :)

The next card is based on Week 52  sketch at Less is More Challenge and I am submitting it to this challenge. I have used my favorite Hero arts Wildflower stamp along with distress inks - Barn door, spice marmalade and mustard seed.

The other day while I was talking to Shruti, she said that she has never seen me use my ek success abstract flower border punch. So I made these 2 cards using it -
Please bear with my not so straight pics. It was so windy today that none of the cards wished to stand still.
I am submitting the above cards to ICRC 14 - Anything goes, but CAS

Will be back soon..Until then happy crafting :)

Lucy's Sketch week - Day 1 + DT call

Hello Friends!! How was your new year eve? I was all alone at home as hubby's out of town since 4 days...and so I crafted like crazy and watched New year program on TV...hehehe...made me remember my childhood days :)
Yesterday I came across Lucy's wonderful blog where she's having a Sketch week challenge. 3 sketches are posted and others will be coming up one per day. So last night, I sat and made cards for all 3 sketches.
I wanted to master CAS style and thought this would be a great opportunity :)
So here's sketch for day 1 -
And here's my take on it -
Here's a closeup of the center -

Although CAS cards are simple, they need a lot of perfection and I have a long way to go. Here are some points that I learned for making CAS cards-
1) Use very good card stock
2) Positioning of  elements should perfect! No crooked cutting or sticking.
3) Stamp sentiment carefully.. It's difficult to correct if you make a mistake. (As you can see..I have messed the sentiment in my above card)
4) Keep hands clean. No ink stains or glue. Use tweezers for holding and gluing tiny objects.

Will keep adding to the list as I learn :). However, I request all the masters of CAS cards to put on your critic's hat and help me improve with your valuable suggestions :D

And now some New Year Crafty Resolutions -
1) Post more often (Target: Atleast 80 posts in 2012 )
2) Master CAS and vintage cards (something I have never tried, but was inspired by Shruti's cards)
3) Make use of all my "hoarded" supplies..especially pattern papers
4) Organize my craft supplies someday such that I can post my crafting room picture. Right now a hurricane has passed through it :p
Well..that's all for now...I hope I will  stick to them :)..

I also wanted to inform you about a DT call. Pooja is starting a new challenges and is looking for 3 DTs. Today's the last day to participate. So if you are interested, hop on to her blog and follow the 5 simple rules....and Wishing you good Luck!

So..that's the end of my long post...Lucy's sketch week - day 2 card coming up soon!
